Our Logo

Our logo reflects our identity as a people. It symbolizes many of our values as a community. It is the image of a setting sun behind a mountain with an olive branch in the center.

The setting sun reflects our context—the Valley of the Sun. This is the place God has called us to serve and bless. The mountain is also a symbol of The Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5). This is the largest block of teachings by Jesus and serves as a central guide to practicing our faith.

As followers of Jesus we value a life of simplicity in a consumer-driven world. The simple design of our logo is a reflection of this. The logo as a circle is a symbol of the community, which is critical to our life of faith.

The olive branch is the color green symbolizing growth and life. It has three leaves depicting the Trinity. It also represents the things we desire to offer the world. The olive branch has long been a symbol of hope, peacemaking, and healing.

Hope: In the Old Testament (Genesis 8:11) a dove was released by Noah after the Great Flood in order to find land. The dove came back carrying an olive branch in its beak, telling Noah that the Great Flood had receded restoring hope for the world.

Peacemaking: This same story of the olive branch became known as an image of peace as it symbolized that God was modeling an offering of peace between Godself and humanity.

Healing: Finally, the oil from an olive tree has long been renowned for its healing qualities. This is a symbol of the ministry of Jesus to offer healing to the world.
